These sterile, X-ray detectable airways are designed to relatively isolate the trachea and provide a direct, sealed route to the lungs. The blind insertion technique allows caregivers to use these airways with an unconscious patient. The inflatable cuff fills the oral pharynx to help protect the airway. With these airways, anesthetists can channel oxygen or anesthesia gas directly to a patient’s lungs during surgery.
