New tactical-style high-speed EMS boots. Tough enough for technical extrication. Comfortable on any call.

From top to bottom, this 8" Rocky 1st Med Carbon-Fiber Toe work boot was designed for an EMT; it’s loaded with features to make you more effective and designed to keep you safe. This footwear is completely non-metallic, which permits them to be worn around scanners or in any area that has metal-sensitive machinery.

  • Durable, flexible full-grain leather and Cordura® upper offers layers of comfort and protection
  • Blood-Borne-Pathogen-resistant outer bootie
  • Extremely breathable ROCKY WATERPROOF middle layer; guaranteed Rocky Waterproof construction
  • Moisture-wicking mesh inner liner to keep feet dry and comfortable under all conditions
  • Lenzi® puncture-resistant aramid fabric midsole provides flexible protection against dangers from below
  • Carbon fiber composite safety toe reduces weight and conductivity; security friendly
  • Curved, fully-waterproof side-zipper allows slip-on convenience without sacrificing protection or support
  • Reflective highlights on sides and sole help keep you visible in any light
  • Athletic multi-layered foot bed provides superior cushioning and support
  • Slip-resistant dual-compound outsole delivers excellent traction on a wide range of surfaces
  • All Non-Metallic Construction
  • Meets ASTM F2413-05 Electrical Hazard Standard
  • Meets ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 Protective Toe Classification

The protective toe is made from carbon fiber; it is certified to the highest level (Class 75) of Impact and Compression protection of ASTM F23413-11 standards. The boot is also constructed to meet the ASTM F2413-11 Electrical Hazard Standard, providing secondary protection against accidental electrical contact. To protect your feet from items that could pierce through the bottom of your boot, there’s a flexible Lenzi® puncture-resistant plate; it has been certified to meet the ASTM 2413-11 PR standards.

The upper has been made from a combination of black full-grain leather and 900 denier Cordura®. The nylon is a nice addition because although it’s lightweight, you will be impressed by how durable it is and its breathability. After an emergency, you don’t want to have blood or other fluids soaking down into your boots. For that reason, this boot has been constructed using HydroGuard™, which makes it blood-borne pathogen resistant. Also, there is a fully-gusseted tongue that will aid in blocking liquids from seeping into your boot.

There is an anti-abrasion tech tuff overlay to keep your toes protected. The Rocky external molded heel protector also safeguards your boots from getting abrasions while you’re driving or working. To make sure your feet are comfortable, Rocky has inserted a lightweight, EVA footbed. Every time your foot touches down, it will be met by relieving cushioning. In order to keep your feet completely dry, these boots have been assembled with Rocky Waterproof Construction.

During the night, it is of the utmost importance that you can be seen. This Rocky 1st Med boot has a reflective strip in its heel (it can even be seen when your squatting down) and there is also reflective piping on the side of your boots that can be seen by both headlights and portable flashlights. You receive ankle support, have better torsional stability and are able to maneuver more rapidly because this footwear is outfitted with a TPU skeletal brace. The outsole has been made of rubber and is abrasion, oil and slip resistant.

Solid boot

I use these as station boots. I looked at a lot of boots before buying Rocky's. I like the protective toe cap, as a firefighter, I end up beating the toes up in ordinary boots. The only downside is, I have narrow feet and find these boots a bit sloppy in fit for me, otherwise a good boot.

feel like a tennis shoe, very light

by

extremely comfortable and light weight.

If you work full time, don't buy.

by

A bit bulky feeling at first. They broke in nicely. However, the lower lace eyelets are made of fabric and ripped out pretty quickly. The foam deal on the back heel area, fell apart. Same goes for the toe cap looking area. That had rubbed off pretty quickly. They are awesome for working in colder weather. They don't breathe well though. Picked these up in a pinch needing them as a replacement. Regret getting them. Looking in to sending them back to rocky.

Expected more from Rocky

From reading the description you would think that these feature packed boots would be fantastic for fire/EMS. Very much to the contrary, these boots are heavy, have zero arch support, the rubber toe bumper is thin and weak, the strike point on the sole creates a clunky awkward foot pronation (think Frankenstein), there is very little impact absorption and they are HOT. As a Fire Fighter and EMT I am on my feet and in and out of apparatus all day, as these boots are heavy they make my knees hurt. I am certain that this is compounded by the totally flat and rigid sole that creates a very awkward walking motion, almost like walking in swim fins. Additionally, when I initially put these boots on it was evident that there was zero insole. In order to have any arch support or form fit, I had to spend another $40 on Arch Mold insoles (awesome product. After the first call where I was required to kneel on pavement to treat a patient, the rubber toe ""protection"" scraped off and is now beginning to peel. On a positive note, these boots are very waterproof......however, this makes them VERY hot. I had always heard positive things about Rocky boots, but the 1st Med boots are a huge let down. I would not advise anyone to buy these, except for cold wet weather work.....but your knees will still hurt and they will still require an aftermarket insole.

1st Med

as the other comment says, these boots are no where near what the description says or even looks like. The quality is sub-par and very upsetting. The toe cap wears out within the first 5 calls, the soles start to wear out after the first 3 months, the inner lining starts to tear within the first 3 months, the plastic heel cap busts within 5 months, and the list just goes on and on. As comfortable as these things look, they are the opposite.

Keep Looking!!!

by

Do yourself a favour keep looking! These are the worst boots I have ever put on, they are heavy, hot and it feels like you're walking up hill all the time. I wore them once and that was it.

""If the shoe fits wear it"", and it does

by

Ideal for all non fire calls I have used them on FR,MVI and rope rescue

Okay

by

Rocky EMS Boots

by

Have been wearing Rocky boots since the original Eliminator. These boots maintain the quality that Rocky is known for.

Not happy with this boot

by

I would not purchase again. I wish I could return these.

Worst Boots Ever

by

These boots are extremely difficult to get in and out of using the zipper alone. No cushioning for your foot. Most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn.

Liner falls apart

by

I bought these and the liner ripped after a months of use. I called and explained it was the fabric ripping not the stitching and sent the boots back and received a replacement. The next pair did the same thing. These boots do not last after repeated donning and doffing.
