Functional, but not great, especially for smaller radios

Our department tried these out for Kenwood TK-2312's. Initially we couldn't fid anyone who made a case specifically for that radio. This case blocks the display and the front buttons, but you'll have that with a universal design. The adjustment mechanism here is velcro sewn to the leather, so you can basically pull the panels apart and reposition them. It is functional, but bulky, and a small radio where the material is choked most of the way in exacerbates this. On our TK-190's this case works much better. The radio is much larger, so the case is extended almost all the way and is thus less bulky. Plus there is no screen or buttons to obstruct. The quality of the leather in this case is unremarkable, I have seen much better, and also much worse. The hardware all seems solid. We eventually gave up on this case and replaced it with a custom case from Bee Electronics, which is immeasurably better in both quality and function, and was roughly the same per unit price. Unless your radio is something truly exotic, I would suggest pursing cases made specifically for the radio instead of buying this.
