DuPont™ Tychem® SL delivers effective protection against a range of chemical environments.

Tychem® SL, utilizes Saranex™ 23-P film laminated to Tyvek® fabric to provide a rugged and durable fabric that resists abrasion. Tychem® SL fabric provides at least 30 minutes of protection against more than124 chemical challenges. Typical applications: chemical mixing, hazardous remediation, emergency medical response, paint spraying, and nuclear environments.

  • Taped seams provide strong chemical resistance against heavy liquid splashes. A sewn seam is covered with a strip of compatible chemical-resistant material through heat sealing.
  • Attached hood with elastic around face opening
  • Storm flap covers zipper which can be sealed by the wearer with adhesive strip to prevent intrusion at zipper
  • Elastic opening for tighter fit at wrist
  • Elastic opening for tighter fit at ankle
  • Available with Taped or Bound Seams
  • Coveralls are sold only by the case (6 per case).

Additional Equipment Needed:

  • Wear other appropriate PPE such as, but not limited to, respiratory, eye, head, hand, and foot protection based on the hazard assessment.
  • Please read, understand and follow the Tychem® User Manual.

Special Warnings:

  • Serged and bound seams are degraded by some hazardous liquid chemicals, such as strong acids, and should not be worn when these chemicals are present.
  • CAUTION: This information is based upon technical data that DuPont believes to be reliable. It is subject to revision as additional knowledge and experience are gained. Please contact DuPont for specific data. If fabric becomes torn, abraded or punctured, or if seams or closures fail, or if attached gloves, visors, etc. are damaged, end user should discontinue use of garment to avoid potential exposure to chemical. Wearing Apparel Flammability 16 CFR 1610* Class 1

*Flammability classification based on the USA Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) textile clothing standard. 16CFR1610 tests are used to determine if materials used in apparel have a high level of flammability. Class 1 = normal flammability, Class 2 = intermediate flammability, and Class 3 = high flammability.
NOTE: A Class 1 16CFR1610 rating does not indicate that the material is flame resistant.

DuPont Fabric Permeation Data - Testing Details:
Permeation data obtained per ASTM F739. Normalized breakthrough times (the time at which the permeation rate is equal to 0.1 µg/cm2/min) reported in minutes. All liquid chemicals have been tested between approximately 20°C and 27°C unless otherwise stated. All chemicals have been tested at a concentration of greater than 95% unless otherwise stated. Chemical warfare agents (Lewisite, Sarin, Soman, Sulfur Mustard, Tabun and VX Nerve Agent) have been tested at 22°C and 50% relative humidity per military standard MIL-STD-282.
